One Hurt in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-215 Near Ramona Expressway

Mead Valley, CA (May 29, 2025) — One person suffered injuries Wednesday morning following a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 215 in Mead Valley that caused major traffic delays.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 10:45 a.m. on the northbound I-215 near the Ramona Expressway. Authorities said an SUV and a Mazda sedan collided in the middle lane, causing one of the vehicles to lose control and crash into a guardrail along the freeway shoulder.

Riverside County Fire Department crews arrived shortly after the collision and located one injured motorist suffering from minor to moderate injuries. Paramedics transported the victim to a regional trauma center for treatment.

Due to heavy debris scattered across the roadway, CHP officers closed two of the three northbound lanes while crews worked to clear the scene. The far-left lane remained open during the cleanup operation.

Officials issued a Sigalert as traffic backed up through the area. Caltrans crews expected the lanes to reopen around noon.

Investigators continue to determine the cause of the collision.
