Driver Detained After Fiery Two-Vehicle Crash in Hesperia Sends One to Hospital

Hesperia, CA (February 8, 2026) — On Friday afternoon, a two-vehicle collision on Locust Avenue in Hesperia left one person hospitalized and resulted in the detention of a driver.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 12:03 p.m. at the intersection of Locust Avenue and Willow Street, involving a 2013 Ford Explorer and a 2025 Toyota Camry.

Firefighters responded to reports of a possible entrapment but found no one trapped. The Explorer’s engine compartment had caught fire, which crews quickly extinguished.

The Explorer sustained severe front-end damage, and the Camry was heavily damaged on the driver’s side. Emergency personnel transported at least one male occupant of the Camry to a local hospital; his condition has not been released.

Authorities detained the female driver of the Explorer at the scene. The crash is under investigation as a suspected DUI violation of California Vehicle Code 23152. Witnesses reported the Explorer was traveling at a high speed and failed to stop at several intersections before colliding with the Camry.
