Two Suffer Serious Injuries in Cole County SUV and Semi-Truck Crash
Cole County, MO (June 5, 2025) — Two people sustained serious injuries Wednesday morning after a 2-vehicle collision on Route B, involving an SUV colliding with a semi-truck.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 11:50 a.m. on Route B south of Spring Ridge Road. Investigators said a 67-year-old woman driving a 2020 Honda CR-V attempted to turn onto Route B and entered the path of an oncoming 2018 Freightliner Cascadia semi-truck.
The Honda driver and her 66-year-old passenger, both from Meta, suffered serious injuries in the collision. Emergency crews airlifted both victims to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
Authorities reported that neither occupant of the SUV was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The 71-year-old semi-truck driver was not injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
Keep Our Highways Safe
Traffic collisions can happen anytime, but their impact lasts a lifetime. Stay alert, avoid distractions, and never drive under the influence. Always wear your seatbelt, obey speed limits, and be mindful of pedestrians and cyclists. Keep a safe distance between vehicles and adjust your speed for road conditions.
Seat belts remain one of the most effective safety features in a vehicle and can significantly reduce the risk of serious injury during a crash. Drivers and passengers should always buckle up and use extra caution when turning across oncoming traffic.
What Happens After a Traffic Collision?
The aftermath of a traffic accident can feel overwhelming. Between medical appointments, time away from work, insurance calls, and mounting bills, pursuing compensation on your own can be stressful and time-consuming.
That’s why one of the most important steps you can take after a crash is speaking with a personal injury attorney. Having legal guidance can significantly ease the burden. An experienced attorney understands how to investigate the accident, collect evidence, handle insurance companies, and protect your rights throughout the claims process.
Without legal support, many people find the process confusing and frustrating—and some end up receiving far less compensation than they deserve, or none at all. You shouldn’t have to suffer additional hardship because of someone else’s negligence.
At Sweet Lawyers, our seasoned attorneys handle the legal complexities so you can focus on healing and moving forward. We work on a contingency fee basis, which means there’s no upfront cost—you don’t pay unless we win your case. We also offer free consultations, giving you the chance to understand your options with no pressure.
