2-Car Collision on Township Road Led to Injuries [Oroville, CA]

One Hurt in Pickup Truck Collision South of Gridley

Oroville, CA (May 19, 2025) — On Sunday afternoon, a 2-vehicle pickup truck collision on Township Road prompted EMS response.

Authorities say that the crash happened at the intersection of and West Evans Reimer Road south of Gridley.

Officers from the Oroville CHP Area Office responded to the scene around 4:30 p.m. alongside Butte County EMS and CAL FIRE/Butte County crews. Investigators believe one of the drivers may have failed to yield before entering the intersection.

Emergency crews treated one person for minor injuries and transported the victim to a local hospital as a precaution.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.

CHP officials said the intersection has been the subject of ongoing safety concerns due to frequent reports of drivers failing to stop before entering Township Road. Officers also continue receiving complaints about speeding in the area.

Let’s Avoid Traffic Accidents

Avoiding auto accidents involves paying attention and practicing safe driving methods. And as always, you should follow the speed and traffic laws, and don’t text (or use your phone in any way) behind the wheel.

Keep a safe trailing distance to be able to stop, if necessary.

Do not drink and drive, and never get behind the wheel if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if you are tired.

Watch your mirrors and use your turn signals, and check your blind spots, before changing lanes or making a turn. Drive calmly and patiently, especially in heavy traffic or bad weather.

When you drive responsibly and remain alert, you help prevent accidents and keep everyone on the road safe.

Intersections in rural areas can become especially dangerous when drivers ignore stop signs or speed limits. Always come to a full stop, check for cross traffic, and drive cautiously to help prevent serious collisions.
