2-Car Crash on Interstate 70 Injures 68-Year-Old Man [Lafayette County, MO]

Lafayette County, MO (July 15, 2026) — On Sunday night, a 68-year-old New York man suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 in Lafayette County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both vehicles were traveling eastbound near the 48.2-mile marker when a Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 33-year-old man from Pensacola, Florida, rear-ended a Subaru Forester.

The impact forced the Subaru off the right side of the interstate, where it overturned before coming to rest south of the roadway.

Emergency responders transported the Subaru driver to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
