2-Car Crash on Paradise Road Kills Pedestrian [Stanislaus County, CA]

Stanislaus County, CA (July 18, 2026) — A 29-year-old Patterson man lost his life, and three other people suffered injuries following a two-vehicle crash on Paradise Road Thursday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 6:51 p.m. at the intersection of Paradise and Shiloh roads, west of Modesto.

Investigators said a 2026 Rivian SUV was traveling west on Paradise Road and attempted to turn left onto Shiloh Road when it collided with an eastbound 2004 Toyota pickup traveling at approximately 55 mph.

The impact killed the Toyota driver at the scene. His passenger, a 32-year-old Patterson man, sustained major injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The Rivian’s driver, a 16-year-old from Patterson, and a 38-year-old female passenger, also from Patterson, suffered minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.

Authorities reported that alcohol and drugs do not appear to have contributed to the crash. The intersection remained closed for about three hours while investigators processed the scene.
