Injuries Reported After Two-Vehicle Collision on San Pedro Drive in Albuquerque
Albuquerque, NM (May 23, 2025) — Albuquerque police are investigating a two-vehicle crash on San Pedro Drive that left at least one person injured Saturday afternoon.
Officers responded around 2 p.m. to the intersection area near San Pedro Drive, where a white truck towing a trailer collided with an SUV. Investigators said the truck was traveling southbound when it reportedly slammed into the side of the SUV.
Emergency crews with Albuquerque Fire Rescue treated victims at the scene and transported at least one injured person to the University of New Mexico Hospital. Authorities have not released the victim’s condition.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage in the collision. Police said the driver of the truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Officials temporarily shut down both directions of San Pedro between Zuni and Trumbull while crews investigated and cleared the crash site.
Let’s Avoid Traffic Accidents
Avoiding auto accidents involves paying attention and practicing safe driving methods. And as always, you should follow the speed and traffic laws, and don’t text (or use your phone in any way) behind the wheel.
Keep a safe trailing distance to be able to stop, if necessary.
Do not drink and drive, and never get behind the wheel if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if you are tired.
Watch your mirrors and use your turn signals, and check your blind spots, before changing lanes or making a turn. Drive calmly and patiently, especially in heavy traffic or bad weather.
When you drive responsibly and remain alert, you help prevent accidents and keep everyone on the road safe.
Serious crashes can happen in an instant and often leave victims facing painful injuries and financial stress. Drivers should remain alert at intersections, obey traffic signals, and avoid distractions behind the wheel to help reduce the risk of devastating collisions.
