AUSTIN, TX (May 29, 2025) – Wednesday morning, a startling bus crash near Steck Avenue and MoPac Expressway injured 2.

The incident happened when an Austin ISD bus crashed near Steck Avenue and MoPac Expressway.

According to reports, the vehicle veered off Steck Way until it went through a grass embankment. Eventually, it stopped on a MoPac frontage road and blocked the northbound ramp.

“Thankfully, no students were on the bus and both the driver and bus monitor were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” an AISD spokesperson revealed.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
