LONG BEACH, CA (May 27, 2026) – Monday morning, a disastrous wrong-way crash on 710 Freeway and Gerald Desmond Bridge injured 2.

The incident occurred just after 12:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of 710 Freeway and Gerald Desmond Bridge, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Garcia.  

“Two people were transported,” Officer Garcia said, noting that he could not confirm their conditions or whether they were in the same vehicle.

It was not immediately clear whether speed or impairment played a role in the crash.

A California Highway Patrol SigAlert was issued while road crews cleared the scene, and lanes eventually reopened around 2:10 a.m.
