Police Investigate  SUV Crash on Highway 99E Into Home in Dairyville

DAIRYVILLE, CA (June 4, 2026)— Two people suffered minor injuries Thursday morning after a crash on Highway 99E. 

Reportedly, an SUV left Highway 99E and crashed into a residential structure near Dairyville.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded around 11:03 a.m. to the area of Highway 99E and Craig Creek Lane in Tehama County after receiving a report of a vehicle crashing into a structure.

When officers and emergency crews arrived, they found a white Ford Explorer that had struck the exterior wall of a home.

CHP said the Explorer caught fire after the crash, but good Samaritans extinguished the flames. The driver and passenger were able to get out of the vehicle on their own.

Authorities said no one was inside the residence at the time of the crash.

The driver and passenger reported pain after the collision. Emergency responders transported both occupants to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff for treatment of minor injuries.

CHP said the male driver told officers that he had “passed out” while driving northbound on Highway 99E. Investigators said the driver became incapacitated, left the roadway on the west shoulder, hit a fence, and then crashed into the exterior wall of the residential structure.

Emergency crews remained at the scene until about 1:40 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
