Police Investigate Crash on Interstate 35 Involving TxDOT Vehicles

SAN ANTONIO, TX (May 29, 2026)— Two people were hospitalized in a crash on Interstate 35 Friday morning after a car collided with two Texas Department of Transportation construction vehicles near Loop 1604.

According to the Live Oak Police Department, officers responded to the crash shortly after 5:35 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-35.

When officers and fire officials arrived, they found two people injured in the collision. Emergency responders transported both victims to local hospitals for treatment.

Authorities said fluids leaked onto the roadway after the crash. As a result, officials closed all southbound main lanes of Interstate 35 while first responders investigated and crews worked to clean the road.

As of 8:30 a.m., police expected the southbound main lanes to remain closed for another two to three hours.

Drivers were redirected at the Anderson Loop exit while crews cleared the scene.

Authorities have not released additional details about what caused the crash or the condition of the injured victims.

The crash remains under investigation.
