CENTRALIA, MO (May 6, 2025) – Monday afternoon, an alarming 2-vehicle crash on Highway 22 near East Benson Road injured 2.

The incident happened on Highway 22 near East Benson Road in northern Boone County.

Boone County Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Gale Blomenkamp confirmed that the crash involved two vehicles.

A helicopter departed the scene at 3:05 p.m. Additionally, two Boone County Fire Protection District firetrucks, four other BCFPD vehicles, and a sheriff’s deputy responded to the incident.

By 3:36 p.m., one lane of the roadway had been closed, with first responders directing traffic. A gray car was seen resting in the grass, while a white vehicle with a heavily damaged front end was stopped on the shoulder.

At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
