Injuries Reported in Columbia Auto Accident on Route J and W Drane Road

COLUMBIA, MO (September 14, 2026) – Late Friday night, an alarming vehicle crash on Route J and W Drane Road injured two teenagers.

The incident happened just after 11:00 p.m. on Route J and W Drane Road.

The crash occurred when a 16-year-old Harrisburg girl was driving a 2024 Chevrolet Impala north on Route J. According to an MSHP crash report, she lost control near W. Drane Road, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and overturn.

Four of the five occupants were ejected. The teen driver and a 16-year-old Sturgeon boy were taken to University Hospital with serious injuries. A 15-year-old Harrisburg girl and an 18-year-old Sturgeon man were also hospitalized with minor injuries.

The four injured occupants were not wearing seat belts, according to the report. The fifth passenger, whose identity was not released, was not listed as injured.
