Police Investigate Crash on Highway 30 in Grimes County

GRIMES COUNTY, TX (September 4, 2026)– Two drivers were hospitalized after a crash on Highway 30 involving a Ford F-250 and an 18-wheeler in Grimes County Friday afternoon.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision happened east of the Navasota River on Highway 30. Authorities received the crash report at approximately 2:32 p.m.

DPS said a Ford F-250 towing a trailer was pulling out of a landfill and entering Highway 30 when the driver failed to yield the right-of-way to an eastbound Kenworth 18-wheeler.

The two vehicles then collided in the eastbound lanes of Highway 30.

Emergency responders transported the Ford driver to St. Joseph Hospital with suspected minor injuries. The driver of the 18-wheeler was also taken to an area hospital with injuries described as minor.

According to a DPS trooper at the scene, authorities issued the Ford driver two citations. One citation was for failure to yield the right-of-way from a private drive.

The other was for a tent violation, as reported by DPS.

Authorities did not release additional information about the identities of the drivers or the extent of damage to the vehicles.

The crash remains under investigation.
