Police Seek Fleeing Vehicle After Crash on Robinett Road in Killeen

KILLEEN, TX (May 1, 2026) — Two drivers suffered injuries Thursday afternoon after a crash on Robinett Road in Killeen, and police are searching for another vehicle that fled the scene.

Killeen police responded to the 4000 block of Robinett Road around 2:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision. When officers arrived, they found a blue Chevrolet Camaro and a silver Ford SUV that had crashed near Robinett Road and Woodrow Drive.

Police closed part of Robinett Road for about four hours while emergency crews assisted the injured and investigators examined the scene.

According to the preliminary investigation, the Camaro and another light-colored vehicle traveled southbound at a high rate of speed. Witnesses told police the vehicles appeared to be racing.

Police said the Camaro driver lost control and struck the Ford SUV, which was traveling northbound in the inside lane. After the impact, the Camaro spun off the roadway and came to rest in the backyard of a nearby residence.

Emergency responders transported the 24-year-old male driver of the Camaro to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in critical condition. The 26-year-old male driver of the Ford SUV also went to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in stable condition.

Killeen police said the light-colored vehicle fled southbound on Robinett Road at a high rate of speed. The department’s Traffic Unit is asking for the public’s help in identifying that vehicle.
