Police Search the Driver After Hit-and-Run Crash on 5th Street in Odessa

ODESSA, TX (May 1, 2026)— Two motorcyclists suffered severe injuries after a hit-and-run crash on 5th Street Thursday night.

According to the Odessa Police Department, officers responded to the crash around 9:06 p.m. near 5th Street and North County Road West.

Investigators said the two motorcyclists were traveling southbound on North County Road West. At the same time, an unknown vehicle traveled northbound on the same road.

Police said the driver of the unknown vehicle failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn and struck both motorcycles.

The driver did not stop to render aid and fled the scene after the collision.

One of the injured motorcyclists, Lude Mionmarin, said they were returning from a birthday party when the crash happened. He also said his friend had noticed the same vehicle cut them off earlier while driving along West County Road.

Authorities believe the vehicle involved may be a silver or gold Toyota with a missing front bumper.

The Odessa Police Department continues to investigate the hit-and-run crash and search for the fleeing driver.
