PHELPS COUNTY, MO (March 26, 2026) – Early Wednesday morning, a startling car crash on Highway P near Forest Service Road injured 2 people.

The incident happened at 12:03 a.m. on Highway P near Forest Service Road.

According to the crash report, a 2004 Nissan Frontier went off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, a 20-year-old man from Vichy, Missouri, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. A 20-year-old passenger from Steelville sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance for treatment.

Authorities said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt, while the passenger was.
