Injuries Reported in New Madrid County Auto Accident on US 62 and MO 153

NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (June 22, 2026) – Monday night, two people sustained injuries in a startling moped crash on US 62 and MO 153.

The incident involving a moped and an SUV happened at about 9:30 p.m. on US 62 and MO 153.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two people were seriously injured in a crash involving a moped and a sport utility vehicle.

Troopers said the eastbound moped turned into the path of a westbound SUV, which struck the moped.

The 21-year-old moped driver from Campbell and his 18-year-old passenger from Risco sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, for treatment.

The 55-year-old Portageville woman driving the SUV was not reported injured.

Both the moped and the SUV were totaled and towed from the scene.
