2 Teenage Passengers Killed in Crash on North Torrey Pines Road and Carmel Valley Road [San Diego, CA]

2 Dead and 2 Injured in San Diego Auto Accident on North Torrey Pines Road and Carmel Valley Road

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 27, 2022) – Monday night, two teenage passengers died in a crash on North Torrey Pines Road and Carmel Valley Road.
 
The incident happened just before 11:00 p.m. in the 13000 block of North Torrey Pines Road, south of Carmel Valley Road.
 
According to reports, an occupant of the vehicle reported to 911. They said that they traveled on North Torrey Pines Road. Then, the vehicle suddenly “ended up on the beach.”
 
Meanwhile, the police that the 2020 Subaru WRX headed south at high speed. Then, the driver lost control and struck the center median. Eventually, the vehicle crashed through a guardrail on the west side of the road.
 
As a result, the vehicle went over the ledge, hit several rocks, and stopped on the sand.
 
Also, officers confirmed that two 18-year-olds and two 19-year-olds, all men, occupied the vehicle.
 
Two passengers sustained serious injuries including a pelvic/hip fracture, a lung contusion, and an ankle fracture.
 
Also, the driver sustained minor injuries.
 
However, the other two passengers died at the scene.
 
The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department came to the scene.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continue to investigate the crash.
