2 Dead in Oxnard Auto Accident on Central Avenue and Santa Clara Avenue

OXNARD, CA (August 26, 2025) – Last Sunday, a brutal 2-vehicle crash on Central Avenue and Santa Clara Avenue killed 2 people.

The incident involving a pickup and a sedan happened on Central Avenue and Santa Clara Avenue.

CHP said a BMW traveling west on Central Avenue ran a red light and hit a Chevrolet pickup heading south on Santa Clara Avenue. The pickup driver, a 75-year-old Piru man, and his 58-year-old female passenger died at the scene.

The BMW driver, a 19-year-old Santa Paula man, was taken to Ventura County Medical Center with moderate injuries and later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The intersection and nearby roads were closed until about 2 p.m. The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Ventura-area CHP at 805-662-2640.
