2 Dead in Tulare County Auto Accident on Road 236 and Avenue 104

TULARE COUNTY, CA (July 22, 2026) – Friday night, a devastating head-on crash on Road 236 and Avenue 104 killed 2 people.

The incident happened at about 9:45 p.m. on Road 236, south of the intersection with Avenue 104.

Investigators said a 29-year-old Porterville man was driving a 2001 Ram 1500 northbound at a high rate of speed when he crossed the solid double yellow lines into the southbound lane.

The Ram collided head-on with a 2004 Ford Fusion driven by a 55-year-old Terra Bella woman.

The impact caused the Ram to overturn, ejecting its driver.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The identities of the victims have not been officially released, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
