NTSB Investigates Fatal Plane Crash in Montrose Regional Airport
Montrose, CO (June 24, 2025) – Two bodies were recovered in a crash in Montrose Regional Airport on the morning of June 23.
The crash occurred around 10:20 a.m. on private property. Emergency responders recovered two bodies from the wreckage.
Authorities confirmed that no one else was injured in the incident.
The aircraft, identified by tail number N250MK, is a non-commercial Amphibious Murphy Moose M14P registered to an address in Fort Myers, Florida.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) reported that the plane crashed during takeoff and caught fire.
The NTSB has dispatched an investigator to examine the crash site, with their arrival expected by Tuesday afternoon.
Officials urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash or captured it on surveillance footage or other devices to contact the NTSB at witness@ntsb.gov.
A preliminary report is expected within 30 days, and officials will release more information as it becomes available.
