Two Hospitalized After Crash on Central Avenue NE in Albuquerque

Albuquerque, NM (September 29, 2025) – A crash on Central Avenue NE involving a motorcycle and a vehicle injured two people Saturday evening near Charleston Street NE.

Just before 6:45 p.m., a 911 caller reported that the rider appeared unresponsive. Officers with the Albuquerque Police Department and crews from Albuquerque Fire Rescue quickly responded to the scene.

Police Service Aides and National Guard units shut down the westbound lanes of Central Avenue at Charleston during the response.

AFR paramedics transported the rider to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where he was later listed in stable condition. 

The vehicle’s driver also requested medical assistance and was transported to a hospital.

APD reopened Central Avenue around 9 p.m. The condition of the driver has not yet been released.
