2 Dead in Coarsegold Auto Accident on Highway 41 and Van Teri Road

COARSEGOLD, CA (May 28, 2025) – Tuesday, a brutal head-on crash on Highway 41 and Van Teri Road killed 2 people.

The incident involving two vehicles happened on Highway 41 and Van Teri Road in Madera.

According to reports, a utility work truck was driving north on Highway 41 at around 100 mph when the driver lost control near a left-hand curve and spun out.

A black SUV driven by a juvenile attempted to swerve to avoid the truck but was clipped in the process. A Ford Bronco, following behind the SUV, then collided head-on with the utility truck.

Both occupants of the Bronco, a male and a female, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the utility truck was arrested on suspicion of DUI and was airlifted to CRMC for treatment.

Tow trucks were called to remove the vehicles from a nearby ravine. Highway 41 remains closed as multiple agencies continue to investigate.
