2 People Killed in Brutal Head-On Crash on US 160

2 Dead in Ripley County Auto Accident on US 160 and Doniphan

RIPLEY COUNTY, MO (August 2, 2026) – Saturday morning, a brutal head-on crash on US 160 and Doniphan killed two people.

The incident happened at about 7:45 a.m. on US 160, three miles west of Doniphan.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two men were killed, and another was seriously injured in a head-on crash involving a Suzuki SX4 and a Chevrolet Suburban.

Troopers said the westbound Suzuki SX4 crossed into the path of the eastbound Chevrolet Suburban, resulting in a head-on collision.

The 40-year-old driver of the Suzuki was pronounced dead at the scene by Ripley County Coroner Michael Jackson. His 50-year-old passenger was transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff, where he later died.

The 42-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Suburban sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Memphis for treatment.
