Two Killed in Single-Car Crash on Highway 33 near Matilija Canyon Road [Ojai, CA]

2 Dead in Ojai Car Accident

 
OJAI, CA (May 27, 2019) – Two people died in a single-car crash on Highway 33 into North Matilija Creek on May 24.
 
The incident occurred at around 4:47 along Highway 33 near Matilija Canyon Road, according to Ventura County Fire Department.
 
According to crews, they found a vehicle that went off the highway and on its roof. In addition, the car was partially submerged in the creek.
 
The CHP said that a person’s body is still in the vehicle and not moving, with their back against a window.
 
The emergency and search-and-rescue crews came to the scene. However, they stopped when they found out that the victim is dead.
 
Caltrans officials came to the scene and shut down the roadway while authorities work at the scene.
