2-Vehicle Collision on 70th Street Claim Lives [Rosamond, CA]

Rosamond, CA (December 12, 2025) — Two people died and another person suffered major injuries after a two-vehicle collision on 70th Street Wednesday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of 70th Street West and Avenue A.

CHP investigators said a man and woman, identified as John Doe and Jane Doe, were traveling southbound in a Honda Pilot when they reached the intersection. At the same time, a man driving a Jeep Wrangler was heading eastbound on Avenue A. For reasons still under review, the vehicles collided in the intersection.

Reports say that the man and woman in the Honda died at the scene. The Jeep driver was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital with major injuries. His condition has not been updated. CHP said impairment does not appear to be a factor at this stage of the investigation.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the victims’ identities once next-of-kin notifications are completed. Anyone who witnessed the crash is encouraged to contact the CHP Mojave Area office.
