DPS Probes Two-Vehicle Crash Amid Dense Fog in Rural Cameron County
Los Fresnos, TX (December 15, 2025) — On Tuesday morning, a person suffered serious injuries while 3 others were transported after a two-vehicle collision on FM 1847.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the incident happened at the intersection of FM 1847 and FM 106.
Emergency crews from the Los Fresnos Fire Department and EMS responded to the scehe.
Authorities later clarified that the incident does not meet the criteria for a major crash.

Let’s Avoid Traffic Accidents
Avoiding auto accidents involves paying attention and practicing safe driving methods. And as always, you should follow the speed and traffic laws, and don’t text (or use your phone in any way) behind the wheel.
Keep a safe trailing distance to be able to stop, if necessary.
Do not drink and drive, and never get behind the wheel if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if you are tired.
Watch your mirrors and use your turn signals, and check your blind spots, before changing lanes or making a turn. Drive calmly and patiently, especially in heavy traffic or bad weather.
When you drive responsibly and remain alert, you help prevent accidents and keep everyone on the road safe.
Reduced visibility can quickly lead to dangerous driving conditions. Motorists should slow down, increase following distance, and use headlights appropriately when traveling in fog or other low-visibility environments.

Even with every precaution, accidents can still occur. Knowing what to do afterward can make a big difference in protecting your well-being and financial future.
