According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the disastrous crash happened at about 5:32 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 24 and State Highway 15.

Reports say that a two-vehicle crash in Monroe County left a Madison woman seriously injured.

Authorities say that a 16-year-old female from Monroe City, driving a Chevrolet sedan, pulled into the path of a Ford SUV driven by a 62-year-old woman from Madison.

Officials say that the collision totaled both vehicles.

The Madison woman, who was wearing her seatbelt, sustained serious injuries and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment. The teenage driver and her 15-year-old male passenger from Paris suffered minor injuries. Neither were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
