Highway Crash Seriously Injures Monroe County Woman
Columbia, MO (June 28, 2025) – A 39-year-old Monroe County woman sustained serious injuries Friday after a 2-Vehicle Collision on Highway 763.
According to authorities, the shocking incident happened on Highway 763 near Prathersville Road.
Reports say that the 39-year-old female passenger of an SUV she was riding in collided with a compact car on Highway 763 in Boone County.
Authorities say that the accident occurred when the car attempted a U-turn near Prathersville Road, and the SUV struck it.
Responders transported the woman to University Hospital. The 69-year-old SUV driver received minor injuries, and a private vehicle took them to Moberly Regional Medical Center. The driver of the car that made the U-turn refused medical attention. Authorities note the SUV passenger was not wearing a seat belt.
The crash forced the closure of the southbound lane of Highway 763 for about an hour before authorities fully reopened the road.

When we drive, we are all part of a larger community of people who share the road. We owe it to each other to drive responsibly, be alert, and respect the rights of others. Safe driving doesn’t just protect you—it protects your family, your neighbors, and even strangers on the road.
Together, we can reduce the number of traffic collisions and make our roads safer for everyone. Let’s drive with care, stay aware, and take responsibility for our actions.
Always remember to buckle up! Wearing a seat belt significantly increases your safety and can prevent severe injuries in the event of a crash. Drive safely and prioritize your well-being on the road.

A Personal Injury Claim Could Help
A personal injury case is critical after a car accident, especially when there is an injured party caused by another driver’s carelessness. Automobile accidents can lead to painful physical injuries, emotional distress and financial ruin. Medical expenses, lost income, and expenses for long term recovery don’t take long to add up. One option for reaching a fair resolution to these damages is a personal injury lawsuit.
Filing a court action holds the wrongdoer accountable. It also forces insurance providers to offer a reasonable settlement, rather than a low-ball offer that may not be enough to cover all of your losses. In too many instances, the insurers who shouldn’t be in the business of trying to maximize their profits often look for ways to minimize their payouts. And your rights will be protected with the personal injury claim throughout this process.
Also, in a personal injury lawsuit, you may be able to recover noneconomic damages such as pain and suffering or loss of enjoyment of life. It’s often no less important than your medical bills. In suing, you also encourage safer driving by reinforcing the accountability of reckless or negligent drivers.
If you do retain an experienced personal injury lawyer, the case is likely to proceed much more smoothly and not only will you be led through the legal process, you will likely have a better chance of a positive outcome as well.
