1 Dead in Harris County Auto Accident near TC Jester Boulevard and Tomlinson Trail Drive

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (August 24, 2026) – Sunday morning, a child died in a devastating 2-vehicle crash near TC Jester Boulevard and Tomlinson Drive.

The incident happened at about 12:40 a.m. near T.C. Jester Boulevard and Tomlinson Trail Drive.

A child was killed after being ejected from a pickup truck during a crash involving a marked Harris County Sheriff’s Office vehicle and a Toyota pickup on T.C. Jester.

Authorities said the sheriff’s vehicle was traveling south when the Toyota pickup turned west across its path. The vehicles collided, sending the sheriff’s unit into a brick subdivision entrance and the pickup spinning to a stop.

Meanwhile, the child, who was under 12, was riding in the front passenger seat and was not wearing a seat belt. The child was ejected, and the deputy performed CPR at the scene. Resuscitation efforts continued as the child was taken to a hospital, where the child was pronounced dead.

The pickup driver, described as a man in his 50s or 60s, showed signs of intoxication, according to authorities. Investigators are seeking a blood sample warrant, and he could face an intoxication manslaughter charge if testing confirms impairment.

The deputy and a clinician who was riding in the sheriff’s vehicle suffered minor injuries and were hospitalized. Moreover, the deputy was not responding to a call at the time.

Also, the sheriff’s office Internal Affairs Division and Harris County District Attorney’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division are investigating. Authorities said speed does not appear to have been a factor.
