LOS ANGELES, CA (May 11, 2026) – Sunday afternoon, a disastrous 2-vehicle crash on 8900 N Winnetka Avenue injured 5 people.

The incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. on 8900 N Winnetka Avenue near Nordhoff Street, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton.

Officials said four patients were initially trapped inside a vehicle while water sprayed from a sheared fire hydrant, according to Middleton.

After crews freed them from the vehicle, the four patients were transported by ambulance to a hospital. A fifth person declined medical transport.

Authorities said the ages, genders, and conditions of those involved were not immediately available.
