Injuries Reported in Phoenix Auto Accident on Interstate 10 near 83rd Avenue

PHOENIX, AZ (August 31, 2026) – Saturday morning, a disastrous 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near 83rd Avenue.

The incident happened at around 2:37 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 and 83rd Avenue.

A BMW sedan crashed into a Toyota RAV4 carrying five people, leaving all five occupants injured, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

DPS said one male victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The BMW driver was not injured.

Troopers are investigating the BMW driver for suspected DUI.

The crash caused lane closures in both directions of the freeway as authorities worked at the scene. The westbound HOV and left lanes were blocked, along with several eastbound lanes.
