Pickup Driver Dies After Colliding With Semi on State Route 26

Adams County, WA (November 22, 2025) — A deadly 2-vehicle crash on SR-26 left driver dead and another injured on Thursday.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the fatal crash shut down a stretch of State Route 26 near milepost 77.

Report say that a pickup truck and a semi collided in Adams County. Officials say that the pickup driver was heading south on South Marcellus Road and failed to yield at a stop sign, striking a westbound semi on SR-26.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, but the pickup driver suffered critical injuries. LifeFlight was initially requested, but the driver was later pronounced dead. The semi-truck driver was also hurt in the crash.

Crews remained on scene through the afternoon as WSP continued its investigation. The collision fully blocked the roadway, prompting the Washington Department of Transportation to close SR-26 between SR-395 and SR-261. Westbound traffic was rerouted through SR-261/260 in Washtucna, while eastbound drivers were detoured via SR-21.
