3 People Hurt in Jackson County Traffic Accident on US 40 near Bellemere Road

JACKSON COUNTY, MO (July 6, 2026) – Saturday afternoon, a disastrous 2-vehicle crash on US 40 near Bellemere Road injured three people.

The incident happened at around 3:10 p.m. on US 40 near Bellemere Road.

According to reports, a westbound Cadillac SRX veered off the left side of the roadway to avoid a Volkswagen Atlas that was attempting to make a left turn from the right lane into a private drive. Then the Cadillac crashed and came to rest in a ditch.

Moreover, officers confirmed that a 3-year-old girl and a 4-year-old girl riding in the Cadillac sustained minor injuries in the crash. Also, responders transported the 25-year-old female driver of the Cadillac to Centerpoint Medical Center with minor injuries.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the Missouri Highway Patrol continued investigating the crash.
