People Transported in Four Mile Road 2-Vehicle Collision

Franklin County, MO (April 26, 2026) – A 26-year-old man from Washington, Missouri, was airlifted in a vehicle crash on Route A Thursday morning.

It was around 10 a.m. when the traffic accident happened on Four Mile Road.

Troopers said a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by a 17-year-old female from Washington, Missouri, did not yield to a 2004 Suzuki Grand Vitara and turned left into the path of the vehicle.

The Suzuki driver, a 53-year-old woman from Washington, Missouri, incurred minor injuries, however, her occupant, a 26-year-old man, was seriously injured.

Rescuers airlifted the Suzuki driver to a hospital, while the two drivers were transported by ambulance.

All of the involved parties were wearing seatbelts.

Traffic accidents are on the rise, leaving victims vulnerable and without immediate help. Every year, thousands of pedestrians suffer serious injuries or fatalities due to reckless or fleeing drivers.

Whether you’re walking to work, heading to school, or crossing the street, staying vigilant can save your life. Always use marked crosswalks, follow traffic signals, and make eye contact with drivers before crossing. Stay visible and avoid distractions like mobile phones.

Drivers must always take responsibility—slow down in pedestrian zones, remain alert in high-traffic areas, and never leave the scene of an accident. One careless decision can have lifelong consequences.

Safer streets start with awareness, accountability, and shared responsibility.

What to Do After a Traffic Accident

If you or a loved one is involved in a hit-and-run collision, taking immediate action is crucial:

  • Call emergency services right away
  • Seek medical attention, even if injuries seem minor
  • Try to remember details about the vehicle (color, make, direction)
  • Speak with witnesses and gather evidence if possible
  • File a police report promptly

These steps can help protect your health and strengthen your injury claim.
