Two Lives Lost, One Injured After Violent Three-Vehicle Crash in Kings County

Kings County, CA (March 21, 2026) — Late Wednesday night, 2 people lost their lives, and another suffered injuries following a devastating three-vehicle collision on 12 3/4 Avenue near Laton in Kings County.

The crash happened around 11 p.m. along 12 3/4 Avenue, south of Douglas Avenue. Authorities determined that a speeding driver in a Dodge Charger traveled in the wrong lane, setting off a chain of events that led to a violent collision.

A GMC Sierra carrying three occupants was traveling northbound when the Dodge suddenly veered into its path. The impact struck the GMC with force before the Dodge also collided with a southbound Mitsubishi Galant.

The crash caused both the Dodge and GMC to veer off the roadway into a dirt field. The GMC overturned during the crash, ejecting its occupants. The driver and one passenger inside the GMC sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

A third occupant from the GMC survived but suffered moderate injuries. Emergency crews transported the injured passenger to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities treated the drivers of the Dodge and Mitsubishi at the scene. Investigators continue to examine the factors that led to the deadly crash.
