OAK RIDGE, MO (March 18, 2026) – Sunday morning, a disastrous car crash on Interstate 55 near 110 Mile Marker sent 3 people to the hospital.

The incident happened at 1:35 a.m. on Interstate 55 in the southbound lanes, near the 110 mile marker in Cape Girardeau County.

State police said a 20-year-old man from Sikeston was driving a 2025 Kia K4 southbound when the vehicle ran off the road, struck a cable barrier, overturned, and caught fire.

Two passengers, a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, both from Sikeston, were also inside the vehicle.
All three occupants were transported to St. Francis Medical Center with moderate injuries. Authorities said everyone in the car was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
