2 Hospitalized After Three-Vehicle Crash on Spring Creek Parkway in Plano

PLANO, TX (May 1, 2026)— Three drivers suffered minor injuries Friday afternoon after a three-vehicle crash on Spring Creek Parkway and Windhaven Parkway involving an oil tanker.

City officials said the collision happened shortly after 1 p.m. Investigators reported that the driver of a white Mazda ran a red light and entered the intersection. 

An oil tanker traveling through the intersection then struck the Mazda on the passenger side.

The impact pushed the Mazda into a black sedan. After the crash, the tanker overturned onto its driver’s side and came to rest on the curb, blocking northbound lanes on both Spring Creek Parkway and Windhaven Parkway.

Plano Fire-Rescue crews responded to the scene and freed the tanker truck driver from the cab. 

Emergency responders transported the truck driver and the driver of the black sedan to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Paramedics treated the Mazda driver at the scene and released them.

City officials said the overturned tanker spilled used motor oil into a storm drain that feeds into White Rock Creek. 

The spill prompted a multi-agency environmental response as crews worked to contain and address the contamination.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
