Injuries Reported in Indio Auto Accident on Interstate 10 and Jackson Street

INDIO, CA (August 6, 2025) – Monday night, a disastrous traffic crash on Interstate 10 and Jackson Street injured 3 people.

The incident between a car and a CAL FIRE ambulance happened just before 9:15 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 10, west of Jackson Street.

CHP issued a SIG Alert in the area shortly after the crash. Traffic resumed, and the alert was lifted by 10:45 p.m.

According to CHP, the collision happened as a CAL FIRE ambulance was leaving the scene of an earlier traffic accident with a patient on board. While merging from the center median into the traffic lanes, the ambulance was struck by a car.

The driver of the car suffered major injuries. Two CAL FIRE employees in the ambulance had minor injuries, and the patient inside the ambulance sustained only the original injuries from the earlier crash.
Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continued to investigate the crash.
