Willits, CA (February 19, 2026) – Three people, including a pregnant woman, sustained injuries in a crash on Tomki Road.

Emergency crews responded to a frightening incident Monday night after a vehicle reportedly drove into a creek on Tomki Road near Cave Creek Road at approximately 9:43 p.m.

Initial scanner reports indicated that a pregnant woman was inside the vehicle along with a male companion who may have suffered broken legs. 

The vehicle came to rest in waist-deep water at the first creek crossing north of Cave Creek Road. 

The occupants were reportedly unable to exit the vehicle due to the depth of the water and the surrounding conditions.

The woman told authorities she was freezing and may have been experiencing symptoms of hypothermia. 

Responders noted that the vehicle had no working heater, further exposing the occupants to the dangerously cold nighttime temperatures. 

Emergency personnel worked in freezing conditions to reach and assist the victims.

Due to the seriousness of the initial report — including possible broken legs and a pregnant passenger exposed to cold water — authorities requested an air ambulance to transport the injured. 

However, by 10:26 p.m., officials canceled the air ambulance request and reduced the response to one ground ambulance after determining that three individuals sustained minor injuries.

Officials continue to assess the situation.
