3 Dead and 1 Hurt in Taft Auto Accident on Highway 119 near Harrison Street

TAFT, CA (September 28, 2026) – Saturday night, three people died in a brutal fiery crash on Highway 119 near Harrison Street.

The incident happened on Highway 119 just south of Harrison Street.

Three people were killed after a pickup truck and passenger car collided on Highway 119, according to authorities.

Police and firefighters arrived to find the pickup and passenger car in the roadway with major damage. A third vehicle was found about 150 feet east of the highway. The pickup caught fire after the collision.

The occupant of the pickup and two people in the passenger car were killed, first responders said. Meanwhile, the occupant of the third vehicle was treated at the scene while a medical helicopter stood by at Taft Airport.

Furthermore, Highway 119 was closed between Harrison and Cedar streets for several hours.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating. No names have been released.
