3 Dead and 1 Injured in Snohomish County Auto Accident on US Highway 2 near Monroe

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA (April 20, 2026) – Early Saturday, a brutal head-on crash on US Highway 2 near Monroe killed 3 people.

The incident happened at around 12:15 a.m. on US Highway 2 near Monroe.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a westbound vehicle crossed into the eastbound lanes while attempting to pass another car and collided with an oncoming vehicle.

Both drivers and a passenger in the eastbound car were pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the westbound vehicle was injured and taken to Providence Regional Medical Center. Their condition has not been released.

Troopers are continuing to investigate and have not determined whether drugs or alcohol were factors.
