SARATOGA, CA (June 24, 2026) – Monday night, a devastating BMW crash on Highway 9 near Redwood Gulch Road killed 3 men.

The incident happened at around 9:30 p.m. when a 21-year-old male driver from Yuba City drove a BMW on Highway 9 near Redwood Gulch Road. Then, he lost control of the vehicle.

Authorities said a BMW carrying three people left the roadway and plunged down a steep embankment, resulting in fatal injuries to all occupants.

The passengers were identified only as a 27-year-old man from Salem, Oregon, and a 17-year-old from San Jose. A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol said the vehicle fell approximately 400 feet.

The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner said the victims had not yet been officially identified.

CHP incident logs showed a large crowd, including family members, gathered at the crash scene shortly after 10 p.m. The coroner arrived at approximately 10:16 p.m.

The highway was closed in both directions following the crash. Authorities continue to investigate and are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to contact CHP at 408-961-0900.
