Painted Cave. CA (August 21, 2025) – A Nissan Titan pickup truck overturned in a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 154 at Painted Cave early Thursday morning.

At 6:58 a.m., a caller alerted the California Highway Patrol that the truck had landed on its roof. 

Several passing motorists stopped to help, discovering that the driver and two passengers were trapped inside the vehicle.

Within minutes, CHP confirmed that two occupants had been safely removed from the overturned truck, while one person remained trapped. 

Responding officers initiated a traffic break in the westbound lanes and requested extrication tools, including the Jaws of Life, to free the remaining passenger.

The crash has caused significant traffic delays in the area as emergency crews continue their response.
