Two Killed, Others Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Ramona Expressway Near Perris

Perris, CA (August 5, 2025) – A three-vehicle collision on Bernasconi Road late Sunday night left two people dead and several others injured.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the tragic accident happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection with Ramona Expressway, in Lakeview.

Authorities reported that a 2013 Nissan Altima traveling east, veered left for unknown reasons and crossed over the raised median into oncoming traffic. The Nissan then entered the westbound lanes and collided with a 2020 Toyota RAV4. The impact caused the Nissan to spin forward into a 2015 Kia Optima behind the Toyota.

Emergency crews from the Riverside County Fire Department responded and pronounced both the Nissan’s driver and front-seat passenger dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released their identities.

Moreover, paramedics transported the occupants of the Toyota and Kia to Riverside University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities closed both directions of the Expressway during the investigation and cleanup, reopening the road by 3 a.m. Monday. The CHP continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
