Fatal Three-Vehicle Crash on SR-167 in Auburn Leads to Arrest of Semi-Truck Driver
Auburn, WA (December 13, 2025) — A deadly three-vehicle crash on State Route 167 near the SR-18 interchange in Auburn claimed one life Thursday morning and led to the arrest of a semi-truck driver, authorities said.
According to authorities, the collision happened around 7:48 a.m. and shut down the northbound lanes of SR-167 for several hours.
Investigators reported that a semi-truck struck a car from behind, forcing it into another truck. The driver of the car caught between the vehicles suffered fatal injuries.
Washington State Patrol arrested the semi-truck driver on suspicion of vehicular homicide. Authorities noted there were no signs of impairment, and the investigation remains ongoing. Crews reopened all lanes by early afternoon.
