Injuries Reported in Howard County Multi-Vehicle Accident on US 40 near Rocheport

HOWARD COUNTY, MO (August 30, 2026) – Friday afternoon, a disastrous 3-vehicle crash on US near Rocheport injured two people.

The incident involving three vehicles happened at about 4:35 p.m. on US 40 between Rocheport and Boonville.

According to the crash report, an 18-year-old man was driving a sedan westbound on U.S. 40 when he crossed the center line before swerving back into the westbound lane.

As he swerved, an eastbound dump truck struck the sedan, causing it to spin into the eastbound lane. The sedan was then struck by an eastbound SUV driven by a 63-year-old woman.

The 43-year-old dump truck driver was not injured. The sedan driver and the SUV driver suffered moderate injuries and were taken to a hospital by Howard County EMS.
All three drivers were wearing seat belts.

The sedan came to rest in a ditch, the SUV stopped in the eastbound lane, and the dump truck ended up in a field. All three vehicles were totaled.
