38-Year-Old Jamar Champ Dies in Wrong-Way Collision on I-10 [Houston, TX]

Houston, TX (October 30, 2025) — Early Wednesday morning, 2 people, including 38-year-old Cybertruck driver Jamar Champ, lost their lives in a devastating wrong-way crash on the Katy Freeway that caused a fiery wreck and major traffic delays.

According to Houston police, that a westbound BMW on the eastbound lanes of I-10 near the Washington/Westcott exit just after midnight when it slammed head-on into Champ’s Tesla Cybertruck.

Reports say that the impact caused the BMW to burst into flames and pushed the Cybertruck into a nearby semi-truck.

Champ was rushed to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries. The wrong-way BMW driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities believe the BMW entered the freeway in the wrong direction despite several “Do Not Enter” and “Wrong Way” signs posted in the area.

Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine whether impairment contributed to the crash. The incident remains under investigation by Houston police.
