4-Car Collision on Interstate 5 Injures 1 [Federal Way, WA]

Federal Way, WA (June 1, 2025) — A rollover collision on Interstate 5 involving four vehicles caused major delays on Saturday afternoon, blocking all but one lane for nearly two and a half hours.

The collision happened around 4:26 p.m. just north of South 320th Street. Authorities said four vehicles were involved in the crash, which resulted in one person suffering injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Investigators believe one of the drivers was speeding before the crash. Troopers arrested that driver on suspicion of DUI. Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, officials are also investigating the incident as a possible vehicular assault case.

Traffic backups stretched for approximately three miles along southbound I-5, with additional congestion reported on State Route 99. Crews cleared the scene later in the evening, allowing all lanes to reopen and traffic to return to normal.
